Parent and Family Engagement Plan
GOAL 1
Taylor Elementary will ensure that all families and community will have an opportunity to help develop the systems Family/Community Engagement Policy.
Action Plan:
Representatives from the community with representation of diverse backgrounds will come together in focused group meetings to help formulate and gather information for our policy and plan.
Family Engagement Plan and Taylor Elementary Family Engagement Policy are located on the Bradley County and Taylor Elementary websites for all stake holders to review and list suggestions for revision. Names will be provided of key contact persons for more information.
Parent Advisory Committee has reviewed the policy as well as the plan and made recommendations for changes and revision.
School and system administrators have reviewed and revised the policy and plan.
Bradley County Board of Education will review and approve Family Engagement Plan.
GOAL 2
Taylor Elementary will provide technical assistance and planning support for effective family engagement.
Action Plan:
Federal Projects Director will meet with principals and school planning teams to provide expertise and training in developing school level engagement plans.
Planning task force teams (parents, students, community, school personnel) will provide input for more effective communication.
Task force teams, along with district personnel, will provide training for implementing school engagement plan.
Bradley County Schools will provide training for all school employees on family engagement.
District and schools will provide staff development for all family engagement activities, including all stakeholders.
To improve communication, the district has implemented a phone communication service to provide more information about their student's education.
GOAL 3
Taylor Elementary will clearly articulate goals for family engagement and evaluate the effectiveness of the goals at all schools and well as the district.
Action Plan:
Taylor Elementary will evaluate communication practices within the system by administering a communication survey.
Taylor Elementary will evaluate communication practices by administering a communication survey.
Parent Advisory Council meets quarterly to discuss school system issues.
"Friendly Family School" survey was administered to determine the effectiveness of our policy and plans.
GOAL 4
Taylor Elementary will evaluate the family engagement plan to ensure continuous improvement for all families.
Action Plan:
Task force team will collect, disaggregate, and analyze the data to determine the needs assessment from the results annually.

GOAL 5
Taylor Elementary will annually review its Family Engagement plan to ensure that all parent involvement needs are met.
Action Plan:
Representatives from the community and the school with representation of diverse backgrounds, will come together in focused group meetings to help formulate and gather information for our policy and plan. The emphasis for the family engagement plan needs to focus on student learning.
An annual survey will be administered to measure the effectiveness of this plan.
GOAL 6
Taylor Elementary will provide opportunities for parents to access and understand curriculum materials as well as Federal, State and Local standards.
Action Plan:
The school website will provide curriculum information links for all grade levels regarding curriculum and standards.
Taylor Elementary will involve community as well as parents on their school improvement teams (TSIP).
Taylor Elementarywill provide student handbooks that include parent rights and responsibilities as they pertain to their child.
On District website provide System Wide Calendar.
Taylor Elementarywill provide staff development activities for community and staff for family engagement.
Taylor Elementary along with the District provides translated school information into other languages.
GOAL 7
Taylor Elementary will encourage and support the involvement in positive parenting skills, decision making and governance.
Action Plan:
Monthly newsletters (Home School Connection) - Will provide parenting tips.
Taylor Elementary will involve community as well as parents on their school improvement teams (TSIP).
The School will provide student handbooks that include parent rights and responsibilities as they pertain to their child.
On District website as well as School website provide System Wide Calendar.
Taylor Elementarywill provide links to the District website which will include web based Computer Tutorial available to all students, parents, and teachers.
District will provide staff development activities for community and staff for family engagement.
GOAL 8
Taylor Elementary will support professional development and specify the budget how o build capacity for family engagement.
Taylor Elementary will provide parent/community ongoing, meaningful, professional development.
Taylor Elementary will provide parenting classes as needed determined by input from stakeholders in the School Improvement Plan.
