Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

CHECK-IN

Please do not leave students at school before 7:10.  There is no supervision provided before this time.  There will be staff members present at the gate to assist students each morning.  PLEASE REMAIN IN YOUR CARS DURING DROP OFF AND PICK-UP. Students will need to walk to the classroom by themselves.

Breakfast is provide in the cafeteria from 7:10 until 7:35.  A grab and go breakfast will be provide from 7:35 until 7:50.

It is extremely important for students to be in their classroom by 7:45 to begin the school day. Students who arrive after the 7:45 a.m. bell, for any reason, must report to the front office to be signed in by a parent before going to class.  Students who are tardy will receive a tardy slip that is to be taken home. If tardiness becomes a problem, the student will be referred to the attendance supervisor and juvenile court for appropriate action. Please try your best to be on time each day.

Middle School Students are required to wait in their parent’s vehicle until the bus arrives.  Middle school students are not allowed to wait outside or inside the school for their bus.

CHECK OUT

When it is necessary for a student to leave during school, a parent/guardian must come to the office and sign them out. A driver’s license will be required from you or any other authorized adult noted on your child’s student registration form.  The office will call students from the classroom to report to the office. Do not go directly to the classroom. All check-outs are recorded and viewed the same as a tardy. If early checkouts become excessive, the student will be referred to the attendance supervisor and juvenile court for appropriate action. Teachers do not have the authority to release a student from their room without permission from the office. For the safety of all students, early dismissals shall not be granted through the front office after 2:00.  Everyone will be dismissed through the car rider line after 2:00.

*Important Note: For the safety of each child, no transportation changes (except for true emergencies) will be allowed without written permission from the parent.  Any change of dismissal (bus to car, car to bus, different bus, someone different picking up) must have a note and it must be approved through the front office. Please make all transportation arrangements before school unless there is an emergency situation. This will help keep the phone lines open and less chance for error. Thank you for your help with this matter.

DISMISSAL PROCEDURES AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL DAY

All parents are to drive to the designated area and wait for their child to be called for dismissal.  Students will wait in the classrooms until their bus number or name is called.  Car riders will be dismissed from the awning outside the GYM.

Kindergarten and First Grade Parents will need to use the driveway closest to the building.  All other parents will need to use the longer driveway.

Kindergarten and First Grade students will begin dismissing at 2:30.  Second through fifth grade students will start dismissing around 2:40.  K and 1st grade students with older siblings will be dismissed at 2:40 with their older sibling.  Teachers will be assigned to watch students in the classroom, call names and monitor students as they enter vehicles outside the GYM, and call bus numbers and monitor students as they enter the bus.

A car tag must be visibly hanging from the rearview mirror to allow students to be placed into vehicles.  Anyone without the proper car tag, will be asked to go to the front office to show picture identification and these students will be called to the office for dismissal.

Bus riders will be dismissed at the side gate.  They will be called by bus number as the buses arrive.  We will call the first number in line.  Then wait until that bus is loaded and driving away before calling the next bus.  This will prevent students from gathering at the bus gate.
