The image shows several law enforcement officers, including a uniformed officer and a man in a suit, standing in a hallway.

We believe that students learn best when they feel secure, supported, and cared for—and that starts with creating an environment where both physical and emotional safety are protected every single day.

We believe every student should graduate with a plan, a purpose, and the skills to succeed—whether that means college, a career, or the military. That’s why Career & Technical Education (CTE) is such a vital part of what we do.

Mission & Philosophy

Taylor Elementary, home of the Tigers, has been a cornerstone of education on the south side of
Bradley County for over 150 years. While the exact opening date remains a mystery, we know
that in the 1800s, it began as a one-room log building. In 1884, a new one-room schoolhouse was
constructed on land generously donated by the Taylor family, giving the school its name. By
1948, a four-room brick building was erected at the current site. Today, Taylor Elementary has
grown to include three separate buildings with numerous classrooms connected by a courtyard,
plus a standalone library and a gymnasium.
We are proud of our deep roots in the community. Taylor Elementary is nestled within a small
farm community, not far from the scenic Ocoee River and Chilhowee Mountain, both renowned
for their natural beauty and outdoor recreation. We feel incredibly fortunate to be located in such
a picturesque area.
At Taylor Elementary, we pride ourselves on fostering a student and community-focused
environment. We nurture critical thinking, encourage problem-solving skills, and instill a strong
sense of community collaboration. We are dedicated to guiding our students to be solution-
oriented and to take responsibility for both their personal and academic growth. One of our
greatest achievements is being a STEM Designated School, which allows us to celebrate the
diverse intelligence of all our Tigers.
Taylor Elementary School is continuously evolving for the better, and we invite you to
experience it for yourself! Go Tigers!
